BOOKING & RENTAL PROCESS

What do I need to rent a bike?

We require a valid form of personal identification, full and verifiable contact details, and a valid credit card (Visa or Mastercard), even if the rental has been prepaid.

Can I rent a bike without a credit card?

Yes, you can pay in cash at our shop or via bank transfer. Please note that the payment must be confirmed before collecting the bike. You will still be required to leave a valid personal ID or credit card at the shop as a deposit during the rental period. Please note that advance reservations cannot be made without a credit card.

How do I make a reservation?

Click on “BOOK NOW” on our website: www.biketheway.com You’ll be able to select your rental period and view the available stock for each model. To collect the bike, you must bring valid personal identification and a current credit card (Visa or Mastercard).

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, you may cancel your booking according to our CANCELLATION POLICY, or by contacting us via email at info@biketheway.com. Please note that if you fail to collect your bike on the agreed date, your booking will only be held for that day and will be automatically cancelled thereafter.

Can I make changes to a confirmed booking?

Yes, subject to availability, by emailing us at info@biketheway.com If you wish to add or remove accessories such as pedals or helmets, you can do so by email or in person when collecting the bike—subject to availability.

How far in advance can I book?

We recommend booking as soon as you know your travel dates to ensure availability. Please note that as we regularly update our fleet, your booked model may be replaced with a newer bike of similar or superior specifications. In any case, we will always upgrade your booking to a model equal to or better than the one initially reserved.

If I already have a reservation, can someone else collect the bike on my behalf?

Yes, this is possible if you notify us in advance via email. The person collecting the bike must bring a valid form of personal identification and a valid credit card (Visa or Mastercard).

What sizes are available?

You’ll find sizing and geometry specifications for each bike model in the rental section of our website, helping you choose the frame that best suits your needs.

Do I need to book in advance or can I just show up at the shop?

We always recommend booking in advance to guarantee availability. However, you are welcome to visit our shop and rent a bike on the spot, subject to availability.

RENTAL CONDITIONS

Is a one-day rental valid for 24 hours?

No, a one-day rental is valid from shop opening until shop closing on the same day. Please contact us for specific opening hours

Do you offer rentals for less than one day?

Yes, we offer half-day rentals in the afternoon, starting from 2:00 p.m. or the afternoon opening time depending on the season. This option is available in-store only, subject to availability. It is not available through our website or for bank transfer payments.

Do you offer delivery services?

Yes! For your convenience, we offer island-wide delivery and pick-up services. Please contact us for more details.

Can I pick up or return the bike outside of opening hours?

No, bikes must be collected and returned during shop opening hours.

Can I rent a bike for amateur or professional competitions?

Yes, our bikes can be used in any sporting event on the island. Contact us for further details.

Do you offer insurance for the bikes?

Yes, you can opt for Basic Insurance at €15 per rental (covers up to €300 in accidental damage), or Pro Insurance at €30 per rental (covers up to €700 in accidental damage). Please note these insurances do not cover third-party damage, health coverage, or theft.

Are there any additional fees to consider?

No. VAT is included in the rental price. We also provide a tool kit with a spare inner tube in case of punctures, and offer mechanical assistance in case of other emergencies.

Can I transport the bike on a bus, train, or taxi?

Yes, you can transport bikes via taxi or train (please check in advance with the relevant service). Bikes can also be taken on the Sóller train and local buses, subject to space availability.

EQUIPMENT RENTAL

Is a lock included with the bike?

Yes, a bike lock is provided free of charge.

What equipment comes with the bike?

Each rental includes a puncture repair kit (air pump, two tyre levers, and spare tube), a multitool, and a bottle cage.

Can I rent a helmet, pedals, or other accessories?

Yes. Helmets and pedals (Shimano SPD-SL, Shimano SPD-MTB, Look Keo) are available to rent from €2/day. Flat pedals are provided free of charge.
If you bring your own pedals, our staff will install them for you.
We also offer discounts for longer rentals—please enquire.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Is there parking near your shop?

Yes, there is free 24/7 parking available along the main road (Ma-11), approximately 400 metres from our shop in Sóller. There are also paid parking options closer to the shop, available by the hour or by the day.

Do you sell accessories or spare parts at Bike the Way?

Yes, we have a wide range of spare parts, accessories, and cycling apparel available, including top brands such as Continental, Shimano, Look, Garmin, Catlike, Kalas, and more.

Do you sell second-hand bikes after the season?

Yes. At the end of the cycling season, we usually renew our fleet and sell some of our used bikes in excellent condition. Please contact us for details.

Can I store my luggage at your shop during the rental period?

Yes. If you rent a bike from us, we will store your luggage free of charge for the duration of the rental.

Do you offer guided tours?

Yes, we offer both personal and group guided tours to various locations across the island. Please contact us for more information.
